Former MFM Lagos striker Stephen Odey continues his rich run of form in Switserland as he scored in FC Zurich 3 – 3 home draw against table toppers and UEFA Champions League campaigners Young Boys on Saturday
The Nigerian international scored what was his scored his sixth goal of the season in 11 games for the Swiss side
Odey opened scoring in the encounter in the 7th minute when he capitalized took advantage of a horrendous mix-up in the YB defence
The error allowed Odey steal the ball and race through on goal.
The 21 year old Nigerian kept his composure to drive a great low finish past von David von Ballmoos in goal for Young Boys
Benjamin Kololli made it two in the 10th minute from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the 18 yard box. Young boys in the 55thminute pulled one back also from the spot from Guillaume Hoarau.
FC Zurich thought the game was out of reach when Roberto Rodriguez in the 58th minute scored the third goal for Zurich but Young boys scored two goals in five minutes, Nicolas Muomi in the 64th minute and a second for Guillaume Hoarau in the 69th minute to square the game up 3 – 3 at full time.
The Nigerian who picked up a yellow card in the 47th minute of the game was on for all 90 minutes
FC Zurich is currently third on the table in the Swiss Super League with 17 points after 11 games with four wins, five draws and two losses. The club’s next match is against Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday October 25th.
