Nigerian national team coach Gernot Rohr has set his sights on inviting fresh legs for the crunch tie against South Africa
The Super Eagles beat Libya twice in 3 days with a 4-0 victory in Uyo followed up by a a 3 -2 win in Sfax but despite the double victory the German tactician is not convinced with the display and is determined to fortify the team ahead of the match against South Africa
Speaking to the Guardian through Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, Rohr said that the quest to assemble a formidable team is a continuous process,
“All the departments of the team that did not meet the expectations of the coaches would be corrected before the next game. Rohr is quoted as saying by the Guardian
He further added that every talented Nigerian player free to play for the Eagles would be given the opportunity to stake his claim to the team while also adding that he has started planning for the showdown with South Africa, adding that part of the process is in evaluating different players in their various clubs to ensure only the best players were invited for the South Africa tie.
“Part of the process is to ensure stiff competition through players invited for the South Africa game. The list of players will be out in the first week of November,” he said.
The Eagles will play South Africa away next month before ending the series at home to Seychelles.
