It was probably the first time in a match that a double substitution was made and both sets of fans cheered but that was the case when Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheancho and Algerian Riyad Mahrez came on in Leicester’s 5-1 loss to Manchester city at the Eithad on Saturday
The 21 year old Nigerian was brought on in the 62nd minute for Benjamin Chilwell while Rihyad Mahrez was brought on for Malian Fousseni Diabate with Manchester City leading by 3-1
The Nigerians introduction brought rousing cheers & applause from both the Leicester City supporters who hoped he would change the tide of the game for them and also from the Manchester City fans who showed appreciation for the youngsters time at City with the Nigerian receiving a standing ovation from multiple Blues.
Kelechi Iheancho joined Leicester City from Manchester City in £25m deal back in August 2017
However neither Iheanacho fellow substitute Riyad Mahrez nor Kelechi’s Compatriot and Leicester best player this season Wilfred Ndidi could do much to stop a rampaging city from putting 5 past them
Iheanachos former strike partner Sergio Aguero scored 4 second half goals while Raheem Sterling got the opener for City as early as the 3rd minute
