Nigerian Professional League side Ikorodu United has been banished from playing their next three games in Lagos due to their inability to control the crowd during their game against Shooting Stars
The League Management Company (LMC) came down hard on the club for breach of NPFL framework and rules for failure to provide adequate crowd control measures during their game against Shooting Stars in MatchDay 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League
The match against shooting stars was stopped in the 89th minute with scores at 1-1 and the LMC ruled that the result shall count as a completed fixture also going ahead to fine ikorodu United ₦750,000 for failure to restrict unauthorized persons from restricted areas during the game.
They were also fined another ₦750,000 for failing to provide adequate crowd control during & after the match.
Ikorodu United will also pay the sum of ₦2m for their supporters throwing objects onto the pitch leading to the discontinuing of the match.
The Lagos based club will play their next three (3) NPFL home games at the M.K.O. Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta starting with matchday 32 against Niger Tornadoes on August 21.
Ikorodu United has up until 5pm on Friday, August 19 to appeal or accept the sanctions imposed on it failure of which will be a breach of the NPFL Framework & Rules, .
The Club currently lie at 19th on the League Table with 18 points from 27 matches.
