Nigerian forward Imoh Ezekiel has revealed why he decided to leave Turkey and join Spanish side UD Las Palmas
Ezekiel was speaking at his officially presentation as a player of UD Las Palmas on Saturday afternoon
The Nigerian striker joined the relegation strugglers coming on a free as he is without a contract after separating from his previous club, Turkish side Konyaspor.
He has signed a contract with the yellows until June 2019.
“I am ready to play, but now it all depends on the coach, I am very happy to have signed at UD Las Palmas,” Ezekiel, said at his presentation
“It is a great opportunity for me to play in the best league in the world and against the best players. ”
“it was difficult for me to adapt to Turkish football, my family did not feel happy and that is why we decided to look for another destination”,
The Nigerian also mentioned that he had payment problems with his previous club.
“I will do everything possible to make a good season with UD Las Palmas.” He concluded
The Olympic Bronze medalist who becomes the 3rd Nigerian at Las Palmas joining Emmanuel Emenike and Oghenekaro Etebo also spoke about the prospect of teaming up with Etebo with whom he played at the 2016 Rio Olympics
“I have not called him yet, I want to surprise him”
Ezekiel has previously played with Standard de Liège, Anderlecht, both from Belgium, and Konyaspor from Turkey, his last club, as well as a spell in Qatari football, specifically in Al-Arabi.
