Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions Enyimba took a further step towards thier march to retain their title when they beat Wikki tourist 2-1 in Enyimbas New home Port Harcourt
With the win the peoples elephants are now sixth on the table with 49 points, just five points behind leaders Enugu Rangers with a game in hand.
NPFL top scorer Godwin Obaje, headed home a cross from former flying eagles star Ibrahim Alhassan ‘Muazam’ to give Wikki took the lead after 42 minutes. The goal was Obaje’s 18th goal of the season.
Enyimba however soon drew level three minutes later and then doubled their lead in the 50th minute with Nzube Anaezemba grabbing both goals.
In the other rescheduled game of the day Ifeanyi Ubah moved to fourth on the table staying in contention for the title after a 1-1 draw at relegation battlers Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium
Rio Olympics star Ndifreke Effiong put Abia Warriors went ahead in Umuahia but Ghanaian Kojo Baah equalised for the visiting FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
Ifeanyi Ubah now 50 points from 32 matches while Abia Warriors move from 18th position to 17th in the table
