Nigerian International defender Ola Aina has said making his debut for the Super Eagles was one of the proudest moments of his life
The 21 year old Chelsea player who is currently on loan at Hull City was speaking just before the game to Chelsea.com
Aina and fellow Blues Michael Hector and Fikayo Tomori were ineligible for Hull under the terms of their loan agreement, but kept a keen eye on proceedings as Chelsea blew Hull city away 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
“Making my Nigeria Debut was another proud moment for me. It’s been going really well so far.” Aina is quoted as saying on Chelsea.com
“My full debut was away to Algeria. We had already qualified for the World Cup so I wasn’t really nervous, but it was good to get out there and play.”
“The fans are so passionate and it’s a big honour to represent them.”
“The country is football mad and you feel that just putting on the shirt.”
“We have some quality players in our team, including Victor, and I am looking forward to what is in store for us.”
Aina also spoke on his time in the championship so far
“I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. It’s been harder than I expected”
“Every team is very hard-working, the pace of the game is very quick and teams press all the time. It’s physical, too.”
“It’s all I need to get used to playing senior football regularly”
Aina made his Chelsea debut last season and played six games in all competitions and already has 31 Hull appearances to his name this term scoring once.
