Rangers International of Enugu shot to the top of standings on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table with a ruthless 4-0 demolition of fellow title contenders Rivers United at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday
In a clash that had been labled one of the title deciders the Enugu side put themselves in a back into contention for a first Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 32 years
The flying Antelopes showed ruthless quality in front of goal and played some sublime football with goals from Tope Olusesi, Godwin Aguda, Christian Madu and Obinna Nwobodo giving the home side victory
Even more incredible was the fact that Rangers played most of the second half a man short after Tope Olusesi turned from hero to zero and was sent off for for head-butting an opponent
With the victory Rangers now sit at the summit, with 54 points, while the same Rivers United are still their closest rivals at 2nd with just a point difference
It was sweet revenge for the Enugu based side as Rivers United had won the corresponding fixture 3-1 in Port Harcourt.
