The Players Nigeria Professional Football League side Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC) embarked on an indefinite pay strike Tuesday afternoon in order to press for their outstanding salaries
The players are owed five months’ salaries and 10 match bonuses.
“They refused to train today because they want their outstanding salaries and also they wish to sight the contracts they signed with ‘The Oluyole Warriors’,” said a source close to the club.
The Players shelved the plan to go on strike before the home game against traditional rivals Enugu Rangers which they won 2-1 but they put it on hold due to the importance of the clash
The Gbenga Ogunbote-led side were paid a month’s salary before the Rangers game however and are supposed to file out this weekend against fellow relegation battlers Warri Wolves.
The Oluyole Warlords are currently 14th on the table with 44 points from 33 matches.
