Former Nigerian international Taye Taiwo has joined Swedish side AFC Eskilstuna
The Swedish side continues to strengthen the team and have added the former AC Milan player to their ranks according to top Swedish publication SportExpressen
The 32 year old was captured on a Bosman and will be presented by AFC during Wednesday
AFC Eskilstuna is still fighting at the bottom of the all-Swedish table. The club is still last with nine points up to Halmstad’s BK holding the qualifying place.
The club has been well-behaved during the summer window, where it has been made clear for Andrew Fox and Farsah Noor. But it does not really stop there for AFC at the acquisition front.
SportExpressen reported that sports director Azad Budak continues to strengthen the team and have acquired the Nigerian who broke his contract with Swiss Lausanne on July 1.
Taiwo has 54 caps for Nigeria’s national team the Super Eagles and during his career has represented major clubs like AC Milan, Olympique Marseille and Ukrainian Dynamo Kiev. After a short victory in Turkish Bursaspor,
Taiwo moved to Finnish HJK Helsinki where he played between 2015-2016.
But now it will be all Swedish and AFC Eskilstuna for Taiwo. The player met his new teammates during Wednesday and he is expected to be announced during the day, if nothing unexpected happens.
