Newly Appointed Coach of the Nigerian U23 Squad Salisu Yusuf has expressed delight at his appointment as coach of the National U23 team and promised to give his all in his latest appointment
The 56 year old former player was named the national Under-23 team’s substantive coach by the NFF on Monday
Salisu who is also currently the chief coach of the Nigerian National team the Super Eagles made this declaration via his social media handle
“Thank God for another opportunity to serve Nigeria head coach U23/Olympic team.” Salisu said
“I promise to give everything for my country, I count on the support of everyone”
The coach who recently led the homebased Super Eagles to a 2nd place finish at the CHAN 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco replaces Tunisia ’94 Africa Cup of Nations winner Samson Siasia who guided Nigeria to a third-place finish (bronze) at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
He will be assisted by assisted by El-Kanemi coach Imama Amapakabo, Plateau United coach Kennedy Boboye, MFM coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and Alloy Agu.
Other appointments made by the NFF were naming Paul Aigbogun as head coach of the U20 men and veteran Manu Garba as head coach of the U17
