Nigeria’s Super Falconets have qualified for quarter final spot at the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup holding in France
The Nigerian girls scored deep in added time to force a 1-1 draw with their Chinese counterparts in a match played at the Stade de Clos Gastel.
The goal was scored by Falconets Captain Rasheedat Ajibade in the 95th minute to cancel out that scored by China’s Zhang Linyan in the 41st.
The Falconets only needed to avoid defeat in the crucial final group game to reach the quarter-finals for the seventh time in nine editions.
Coming into the game, the Nigerian women’s team were placed second in Group D with three points from two games, same as their Chinese counterparts but had a superior goal difference.
They will now play Group G winners Spain on Thursday August 16th
