Nigerian forward Kelechi iheanacho continues his impressive post world cup form as he scored in the successive Preseason game as Leicester City were held to a 1-1 draw by La Liga side Valencia on Wednesday evening.
The 21 year old Iheanacho scored in the 11th minute to give Leicester a deserved lead
The Nigerian striker lead the line himself in the absence of Jamie Vardy and seemed to combine well with leicesters £24million summer signing James Maddison
It was one such combination that lead to the foxes goal after Maddison picked up the ball on the edge of the box after a lovely pass by Wilfried Ndidi and fed it to Iheanacho who fired past Jaume Domenech in the Valencia net
29-year-old Parejo who has been linked with Barcelona this summer, equalised in the 18th minute of the game for Valencia
The game lost some of its spark in the second-half after a series of changes by both sides
Iheanacho was also target for Claude Puel’s men in their previous friendly against Italian side, Udinese which they lost 2-1.
Ahmed Musa was not dressed for the game
With his performance Kelechi Iheanacho has been tipped to start Leicester’s Premier League opener against Manchester United with Jamie Vardy not having enough time to get ready after his post-World Cup break.
