Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu hit a hat trick as FC Midtjylland breezed to the top of the Danish Superliga with a 5-1 victory over Nordsjaelland on Saturday
The 24-year-old scored three goals at the Right to Dream Park giving debuting manager Kenneth Andersen a dream debut after the former U19 coach took over the reins of the team following the departure of Jess Thorup to Belgian giants Ghent.
Onuachu broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute before Godsway Donyoh levelled matter for Kasper Hjulmand’s men in the 50th minute.
He then scored his 2nd and restored the lead to the visitors three minutes later before completing his hat-trick in the 78th minute.
Evander sealed the victory four minutes before regulation time.
Onuachu who has now scored seven goals this season was replaced in the 81st minute by Mayron George.
With the victory which was their second away victory this season FC Midtjyllands now sit atop the log with 12 points from six games
Midtjylland welcome Brøndby next at the MCH Arena on October 29.
