President of the Nigerian Football Federation and newly appointed CAF Executive Committee Member Amaju Pinnick continues to expand his growing influence in African Football following his appointment as the chairman of two high profile committees of the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
The year old who was also only recently appointed into FIFA’s Organising Committee of all competitions under FIFA has now been named head the committee that organizes the Africa’s premier football competition, the Africa Cup of Nations and has also replaced Anjorin Moucharafou as President of the CAF Media Committee at CAF Congress Manama Bahrain on Monday in Manama, Bahrain
Incidentaly Anjorin Moucharafou was the man Amaju Pinnick defeated to become a CAF Executive Committee member.
Former CAF president Issa Hayatou was the previous head of the AFCON Organizing Committee considered the most important committee in the workings of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) aside the Executive Committee.
President of the Zimbabwe Football Federation, Dr. Philip Chiyangwa will act as Pinnicks deputy at the post
Amaju Pinnick is the first-ever Nigerian in CAF’s 60 years history to lead the AFCON Committee.
In other appointments Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi was named 1st Vice President and Congolese Constant Omari the second Vice President of CAF respectively.
SAFA President, Danny Jordaan is chairman of Marketing and TV Committee of CAF, while former Zambia FA President and African football legend, Kalusha Bwalya is chairman of CAF Technical and Development committee.
